It probably won’t come as a surprise when I tell you that Persona 4 Golden is ideally suited for portable play. This makes spending time with friends doubly rewarding as you not only better understand their character but you’re also highly likely to unlock a new combat ability or Persona skill for them. Practically everything you do in your day-to-day life makes either your character or your party stronger. At specific points in the story, you’ll need to venture into a distorted television world to rescue important characters or hunt down suspects in the murder case, and it’s here that the other half of Persona 4 Golden comes into play.Īt least, the social sim and dungeon-crawling elements are expertly blended together. It blends slice-of-life simulation with a full-featured RPG dungeon-crawler. There’s also something inherently novel about a video game that manages to make studying on rainy days or working a low-paying job fun! Dungeon crawling for daysīut Persona 4 Golden is more than just a social sim. You’ll quickly feel like a real part of the Inaba community, and the core characters will worm their way into your heart in no time.
And as with Persona 5, they are the clear highlight of the game as each character has their own personal struggles and challenges.Īs a social sim, Persona 4 Golden offers an almost unrivaled sense of escapism. These links both deepen your combat ability (more on that later) and help you learn more about the people around you. I enjoyed this show even though I have never played any Persona game.You can also choose to hang out with your classmates and the residents of Inaba, which will develop your Social Links. It's worth giving it a chance as it keeps getting better. I wouldn't advise to drop it after few episodes. Both the shows are game-to-anime adaptation. The animation style somewhat reminded me of Steins gate. You may not want to skip the openings and the endings. Their outlook for life/reality and the way Narukami overcomes their challenges felt really superb. The villains, despite reminding us of Madara Uchiha or Kaguya Otsutsuki, were brilliantly handled. Narukami was like everyone's Harry Potter. Moreover, they had a group of maybe 8 people and yet each of them mostly think or talk only about Yu Narukami. But after their respective character arcs, Chie, Yukiko, Rize and Kanji had very little significance for the plot development. Almost each of them had a potential to contribute to the story. Many a times, even by the 'main character-standard', the show looks very 'Yu Narukami-biased.' It had many interesting characters. However, the writing isn't really flawless. Each character has at least something to offer and all of them are developed really well. The anime does well in terms of characterization as well. The ending, despite being quite dramatic at times, was very satisfying and everything felt resolved.
Nevertheless, these kind of twists really suit to this concept. During the climax, you cannot help but think of Naruto Shippuden because of the way bunch of villains manipulate each other. The show takes much time in introducing the characters and mentioning about their struggles.(The similar kind of a pattern observed in Demon slayer). It keeps getting better and is unpredictable throughout. Despite the slow start, the storyline is quite intriguing.

Upon confronting their dark personalities in a distorted TV world, Narukami and his friends acquired mysterious power called 'Persona' and decided to investigate the murders and save others from getting killed. On the other hand, some mysterious string of murders were taking place in Inaba. He and his new friends soon discover about an alternate reality when they were shockingly pulled inside one of the TVs in the Junes shop. The story revolves around Yu Narukami, a young teenager, who moves to the town of Inaba.
